Ducati Carbon Diavel upgraded for 2016

Ducati have unveiled their second of nine confirmed new or revised models for 2016 with the updated Carbon Diavel. Hot on the heels of the news that the Monster 1200R will be their 'most powerful naked ever', Ducati have now released upgrade details for the Carbon Divael muscle-machine which will be available in dealerships as early as next month.

The Bologna-based manufacturer claims the 2016 Carbon Divael “is more aggressive and refined than ever thanks to brand new graphics and a series of new technical and aesthetic features.”

New colourscheme, exhaust coating and seat unit are the main upgrades

The original Diavel is the maddest and baddest Ducati to come off the production line but has hardly been a top seller since its launch in 2011 and when revised for 2014 but this version is possible the meanest looking thing we’ve seen. Muscular yet attractive.

The new Asphalt Grey colour that characterises this new 2016 version offers visible carbon, red stripes and Dark Chrome paintwork on the frame. In addition to the new Carbon version, the Diavel will also be available in the total black Dark Stealth version, with matt black tank and black frame and wheels.

Other new features on the 2016 version of the Diavel Carbon include the exhaust manifolds with Zircotec ceramic coating. The system is also equipped with brushed-effect stainless steel silencer covers. In addition, the bike boasts a totally redesigned seat with new and exclusive trim.

Stunning new exhaust coatingCarbon, red stripes and dark chrome are all part of the new paintwork.

The bike uses the latest generation 1198cc, V-Twin, Testastretta 11° Dual Spark engine and is equipped with ABS, Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Riding Modes (Sport, Touring and Urban). With 162 bhp, 96 ft-lbs of torque and a dry weight of just 205 kg (452 lb), Ducati market it as a ‘comfortable and sporty lifestyle motorcycle’.

Only last month we bought you spy shots of an all- new Ducati Diavel complete with a new frame, exhaust, rear shock position, belt-dive and so on.

Emissions certificates for 2016 show the existing model range of Diavel, Diavel Carbon and Diavel Titanium as having no engine changes and being compliant with Euro 3 emissions, in fact very close to being Euro 4 compliant which becomes mandatory at the end of 2016 and relate to carbon  monoxide and hydrocarbon limits. We therefore understand this model will not be shown at the Milan Trade Show toward the end of the year and in fact will be developed and tested further in line for release during 2016 as a 2017-oriented model.

Stunning motorcycle, right?  or !
