At the end of March 2014, 39-year old Steph Jeavons will set off on a Honda CRF250L, not to her office or to the shops but on an epic 15-month long, 50,000 miles trip across all 7 continents. If successful Steph will become the first British woman to do achieve this incredible feat and only the 5th person in the world to hit all 7 continents solo on a motorbike.
Steph’s solo overland motorcycle journey around the world will visit 42 countries yet to make things even harder, as if they weren’t difficult enough already, she will avoid main roads and motorways! No support vehicles are involved and Steph will simply carry whatever she can on her bike, including a two-man tent.
30 years ago Elspeth Beard managed all of the above except South America on her BMW R60/6 and it has never been completed since.
The route she plans to take winds through Europe then over to Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and then down through Malaysia and Indonesia to Australia and then over to South America. Then the big challenge: Antarctica, before returning to S. America and heading up to Canada then over to Africa and then ride back through Spain.
Her aim is to raise money for Rally4Life and Steph will live on a food budget of just £5 per day whilst relying on “the kindness of strangers seeing me through. I am using social media to invite people to offer me the odd sofa for the night where I can scrub up and move on. This is proving very popular and I already have at least one person in each country.” said Steph.
She continued, “I will be avoiding all major roads and motorways and using back roads and dirt tracks wherever possible. This trip really is about living, learning and enjoying. I am certainly not attempting to break the speed record!”
Honda have supplied the CRF250L which Steph describes as “light and manageable on and off road so it's particularly perfect for women and vertically challenged adventures like myself!”

It was some 50 years ago that motorcycling icon Steve McQueen sat astride a Triumph Bonneville wearing a Barbour jacket, now the two firms have now come together to launch an all-new clothing collection.
