Toseland to “repay faith and loyalty” for continued Bennetts support
In an open and honest pre-season interview, Superbike World Championship contender James Toseland has revealed that he is “truly grateful” to Bennetts, the UK’s No. 1 for bike insurance* for continuing to support him through the highs and lows of his career. The interview was given to the specialist bike insurer’s website following confirmation that they will continue to support him for a fifth consecutive year.
Double World Superbike Champion, James, who has signed to the BMW Italia team for this season, first formed a relationship with Bennetts in 2007 – the same year that he clinched his second title in the ultra competitive series. The support continued throughout his difficult MotoGP career and into his return to the Superbike championship last year.
Despite a difficult couple of years with injury-plagued seasons and adjustments to new bikes and teams, James has remained a strong ambassador for the Bennetts brand and has engaged with the company’s customers and staff through exclusive track days and customer service centre visits.
The Yorkshireman, who now lives on the Isle of Man, has expressed his gratitude at the continued support from Bennetts and is determined to reward the loyalty with strong performances on track this year. He talks about his time in MotoGP, difficult last season and hopes for the future in an exclusive interview at

In the interview James says that he is “truly grateful” for the support that he has received from Bennetts. “My relationship with Bennetts has been a long and enjoyable one; they have supported me through the highs and lows of my career. For Bennetts to stick with me for another year, given my injury plagued season last year, means a lot to me and I want to repay their faith and loyalty on track this year.
“I am 100% focused and committed to putting the demons of 2010 behind me. I’m going all out for wins in 2011. However, I have to remember that we are an unknown quantity this season with a new team and a new bike, so hopefully we can show everyone what I know is possible.”
Bennetts Communications Manager, Michael Mann, said: “We have a fantastic relationship with James and we are delighted to be continuing with that in 2011. In 2007, we decided that he was the perfect fit with our positioning of the UK’s No.1 and, as far as we’re concerned, that hasn’t changed. James is still the only current British rider with two world titles to his name, he has been a fantastic ambassador for the sport, the country and for Bennetts.
“We wish him the best of luck for the forthcoming season and we’ll all be watching next weekend’s action from Phillip Island, Australia to see how he gets on with the new bike and team. We’re confident that James is still capable of winning races and championships.”
